Albany State University awards 32 Black former students honorary degrees, in an attempt to make ammends for it's injustice to them over 40 years ago. While the gesture is foot in the right direction. The damage has already been done in my opinion..What do you think?

I agree. It is an admirable gesture that President Freeman knew he wanted to right a wrong. There are many pressures on a college president. He understands that William Dennis had to act as he did because he "likely faced extreme pressure from 'supporters of the status quo'" during that time period. Unfortunately, if it were me, I think I would have had a hard time accepting the "honorary degree".
